LIVEMotoGP.NET — MotoGP 2025. MotoGP analyst Carlo Pernat believes Ducati’s brilliant performance this season cannot be separated from the major role of Marc Marquez. According to him, without Marquez, the Italian manufacturer’s dominance would not look as strong as it does now. Pernat emphasized that only Marquez is capable of unlocking the full potential of the Desmosedici GP25.
Ducati’s dominance is reflected in their position at the top of the MotoGP 2025 constructors’ standings with 504 points, far ahead of Aprilia, which has only collected 228 points. This achievement has also been supported by Marquez’s consistency, as he secured 10 victories out of the 14 races held so far.
Pernat added that Francesco Bagnaia and Fabio Di Giannantonio have not yet fully adapted to the bike. This, he said, is why neither has been able to deliver a performance on par with Marquez.
“Without Marc Marquez, Ducati would never be in such a dominant position today. Apart from Marquez, no one can really handle the bike—whether it’s Giannantonio or Bagnaia, they’re all struggling. It’s true the standings are full of Ducati riders at the front, but that’s more due to circumstances than purely extraordinary technical strength,” Pernat stressed.

Marc Marquez now leads the championship with 455 points, 175 points ahead of his brother, Alex Marquez. With such a margin, he has a very strong chance of securing the world title at the MotoGP San Marino 2025.
Pernat considers Marquez the strongest rider on the grid today, with undeniable talent—even if he does ride the best bike.
“Marquez might clinch the title at Misano. If his brother, Álex, fails to overturn his negative run from the last three GPs, Marc could be crowned world champion there, on Valentino Rossi’s home turf. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise, but certainly something to reflect upon. After all, that he is the strongest is beyond doubt. Yes, he has the best bike, but the rider’s value is indisputable,” Pernat concluded.
