LIVEMotoGP.NET — MotoGP 2025, Ducati Lenovo rider Francesco Bagnaia, also known as Pecco Bagnaia, has received a stern warning from Ducati Corse Manager Luigi Dall’Igna after failing to meet team expectations in the opening five rounds of the 2025 MotoGP season.

Bagnaia's performance has been underwhelming so far. Although he secured a victory at the 2025 Americas Grand Prix, it remains his only win this season.
Meanwhile, his new teammate at Ducati Lenovo, Marc Marquez, has been far more impressive, notching up three victories in the first five rounds. Marquez's arrival is now seen as a serious challenge to Bagnaia's standing within the team.
At the most recent race, the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix, Bagnaia only managed a third-place finish, trailing behind Alex Marquez and Fabio Quartararo. Dall’Igna remarked that Bagnaia's performance remains inconsistent and below team expectations.

“Pecco hasn’t lived up to expectations, especially since we’re used to seeing stronger performances from him on Sundays compared to Saturdays,” Dall’Igna said.
“That said, he did show remarkable bravery and determination on the opening lap,” he added.
Dall’Igna believes Bagnaia has lost the edge he once had. Nonetheless, he emphasized that Ducati is fully committed to helping their lead rider regain his top form.
“In terms of race rhythm, he’s missing the sharpness and driving force we expect to see from a title contender,” Dall’Igna stated.
Despite the struggles, Bagnaia remains in the title race. He currently sits third in the 2025 MotoGP standings with 120 points — just 20 behind championship leader Alex Marquez and 19 behind Marc Marquez.
“From a points perspective, third place is still valuable, but clearly we need to make improvements,” said Dall’Igna.
